Survival for Poets

(W)RITE

  1. Grab some chalk and find your nearest sidewalk. Look for wild plants that have taken root in this built environment.
  2. Once you’ve identified a plant, write its name on adjacent pavement. Use (m)any language(s) you know.
  3. Rain will act as an editor for our Rebel Botany, erasing chalk. This cleans the slate for repeating this writing ritual.
  4. Plant species appear and expire depending upon their seasonal growth cycles. By repeating this exercise, you will attune to the growth behaviours of your local co-constituent ruderal species.
