To build a strong foundation for the NoMuLAB, we conducted a comprehensive needs assessment in Iceland and Denmark. Through surveys, desk research, and interviews with multilingual writers, educators, and experts, we explored current practices, challenges, and support strategies in multilingual and multicultural writing education. The findings were compiled into national reports and a final transnational report—available in Danish, English, and Icelandic—that help guide our next steps.

These reports explore the challenges, opportunities, and forms of institutional support available to multilingual writers in Denmark and Iceland. Through a comparative and integrative approach, we brought together insights from the two national reports and the final transnational report, identifying shared themes as well as institutional, educational, and sociocultural gaps and challenges relevant to the broader Nordic context.

To make the main findings more accessible, we also invite you to explore key highlights from the report in both video and PDF presentation formats.
