A few personal reflections from me:

💫 We are all storytellers. We are all full of stories, emotions, and ideas that can be shared through writing.

💫 Language is an endless source of ideas. Sometimes we just need to get curious, observe, or experiment.

💫 Our perception of the world around us is shaped by multiple languages. Sometimes we think of them as background noise and don’t pay attention to them, so keep your ears and mind open.

💫 Languages are flexible and evolving. They are an invitation for us, poets and writers, to play and experiment.

Keep these two in your poetic toolbox:

🛠️ Etymology, or tracing word roots: Stay curious about the meanings of words, their stories, origins, and the journeys they take across time, languages, and cultures. Etymology is a great tool for building deeper connection with language and also an amazing source of inspiration.

🛠️ Repetition can make words more powerful, building an anchor within your text, a strong and stable point of return. Repetition is also a magical tool, by creating a trance-like process that evokes new meanings and images through rhythm, beyond our conscious or intellectual understanding. When words feel powerless, use repetition to create some fire!
