(S)KRIV
In the mini-lecture “GO OUTSIDE,” we introduced ways in which our relationships with place and language can (in)form identities through everyday encounters with friends and strangers.
In the (W)READings for this session, non-fiction writers Christine Miserando and Johanna Hedva describe ways they relate their bodies to others in their communities. Karin Bolender, Mette Moestrup, and Aase Berg explore embodied physical relationships with self, kin, and ecosystems through a poetic sense-ability.
Now, you are invited to go outside for our first writing ritual, aimed at attuning to the visual and sonic presence of language in your immediate environment.
- Take a journal and writing tool outside.
- Find a place to sit.
- Write down every word or partial word you see.
- Write down every word or partial word you hear.
- Use the words you have found to create a portrait of your location.
How is your body in your here-now?
