Meet Your Guide
Hello

My name is Ewa. I am a writer from Poland living in Iceland, and I write in English. I am also an educator, cultural organiser, and project manager.

In this course on the practicalities of multilingual writing, I will be your guide, sharing not only my own experience, but also the knowledge and expertise we have developed at Ós Pressan, multilingual collective and publishing house, through more than ten years of working with multilingual writing.

Whether you are an emerging author, a multilingual writer, or an educator working in a multilingual setting, I hope this course will support you in achieving your professional goals.

If you would like to learn more about my work, you will find some info and useful links below:

Polishing Iceland

Polishing Iceland (Ísland pólerað), published in 2022 in English and Icelandic, is my debut book. It’s a bittersweet collection of stories, poems, and anecdotes about immigrant life in Iceland.

Writers Adrift book

Writer’s Adrift (Skáldreki), published in 2023, is an essay collection by foreign-born writers living in Iceland, which I co-edited with Natasha S. In this book, ten authors discuss the subjects of belonging, creativity, and personal experience.

Since 2015, I’ve been one of the founding authors and board members of Ós Pressan, a multilingual writing collective and a non-profit publishing house supporting diverse authors.

Lately I’ve been interested in creating spaces for multilingual writing and literary exchange. In 2023 I started Reykjavík Poetics, a multilingual literary event series, and in 2026 I launched Ritrými í Reykjavík, community-driven multilingual writing sessions.
